The mission of the Home and School Association is to advance the
academic and spiritual welfare of the students in the school through
coordinated efforts of the parents/guardians, faculty, staff,
administration, and students in a Christ-like atmosphere. Parents
and guardians of students attending Corpus Christi Catholic School are
automatically members and encouraged to become actively involved.
This organization is similar to the PTA or PTO in a public school.
On an annual basis, our budget includes funding for items such as
library books, science support, special classes, band and orchestra
support, Field Day, mini-grants/classroom enhancement money, and much
more.
Our students learn the value of stewardship in many different forms
while at Corpus Christi. They will be participating in several
projects to help others in our community throughout the year. One
of the best ways to teach stewardship is to demonstrate it. By
becoming involved in Corpus Christi activities and projects, our
parents contribute to the success of the school as well as
providing examples of faith in action. Please take a few minutes
to review our Volunteer Packet,
which invites all parents to select areas in which they will be
contributing their time and talents to benefit the students of Corpus
Christi Catholic School this year. An Application for Youth Work
must be submitted to the school office if you will be working directly
with Corpus Christi students. These volunteer opportunities
provide a variety of ways to fulfill our school's policy of requiring a
minimum of 15 hours of service per family. The Volunteer Hours Form can be printed off for families to fill in throughout the school year. The forms must be turned into the school office in May.
Home and School Association meetings typically take place on the first
Monday evening of every month from August through June at Corpus
Christi, and are open to the entire membership. Any members
interested in becoming a Board member or chairing/co-chairing a
committee for the next school year are encouraged to contact a Home and
School officer or committee chair and shadow that position during the
current school year.
