Wow! What a busy month May is!

The children have been able to practice their laps this week and completed 9 laps today!!! We hope you can come Monday morning at 8:30 a.m. to cheer them on as they complete their 10 laps. We also thank you in supporting them in sponsoring them in this service project as we raise money for Nestlings- an organization that ensures all families have access to diapers for their young ones. Be sure your child eats breakfast and wears their running shoes to school that day.

We also celebrated mothers today with a special celebration. The children also brought home a special gift for all their mothers as a sign of appreciation for all you do.

We are still collecting registrations for our enrichment weeks during May 28-31 and June 3-6. Children must be registered and pre-paid to attend these weeks. There is a maximum number of students for each session so register soon.

We are also selling tickets for our annual potluck picnic at Teusink’s Pony Farm. Information was sent home through the Friday folder, posted on website, and hanging on the classroom door. This is always enjoyable event- don’t miss out on the fun.

Preschool Highlights:

Pre-writing/literacy: We practiced the strokes for the letter s and investigated words that begin with the “s” sound.

Math: The children sorted and made comparisons of different sized objects. They also made patterns by stringing beads.

Art: The children finished up their “top secret” gifts for their mothers.

Catechesis of the Good Shepherd/Atrium: The children are continuing using the materials in the atrium and listening to the parable of the Good Shepherd in small groups.

                                  See you Monday morning!
