Last full week of Kindergarten

This was our last full week of Kindergarten!. Monday, May 27 is no school. John Ball Zoo trip is on Thursday, May 30. Bring a sack lunch and a drink. Wear your Corpus Christi blue shirt, shorts, tennis shoes (no flip flops), hat, sunscreen. Pray for great weather!

Reading: We read This is the Way We Go To School in which we saw a variety of ways children all over the world go to school. We reviewed nouns and verbs. Our letters were Qq and Yy in which we used them at the beginning of words. Our sight words are where and come. Keep practicing the words.

Math: We finished our unit on sorting objects by color, shape, and size. We also learned how to make and read a graph. The graph gives us information that we can use to compare things with. We will work on some first grade skills next week with more addition.

Religion: Jesus helps us to be Holy in which being Holy helps us to be happy. We learned about making Holy choices like giving our money to feed the poor instead of keeping it all to ourselves. We drew pictures of our choices. We also learned about St. Maria Goretti who was a child and she forgave the person who wronged her.

Science: We read Corduroy Visits the Zoo and Curious George Visits the Zoo. We saw all the animals they saw at the zoo. We are going to write a story about an animal at the zoo.

Bubbles: We explored with bubbles outside in which we discovered they make circles, float in the air, and are colorful. After exploring with them outside we wrote about the bubbles in our journals and drew pictures. Try bubbles at your house.

We are getting prepared for our Graduation on June 5. Your child may wear his/her Sunday best clothes for Graduation. We will begin at 9:00 in the Chapel. Your child may come to school at our regular school time but no later than 8:45. We will meet first in our classroom.
