We look forward to our new Kindergarten classes this fall and getting to know your child.   We hope that your child is excited as well.  As your child’s teachers\, our goal is to work with you to make the transition to Kindergarten as easy as possible. \nTo help with this transition\, your child will participate in Kindergarten Welcome Camp at Corpus Christi Catholic School on Tuesday\, August 21 and Wednesday\, August 22\, from 8:30-11:30 AM.  This is an opportunity for your child to meet us\, his or her classmates\, and participate in a variety of fun activities with the help of Outdoor Discovery Center.  This time also allows your child to become comfortable with our classroom and school building while learning daily routines.  Your child may wear shorts and comfortable shoes for the camp (no flip flops) as we will be having some outdoor activities.  We will have our first full day of Kindergarten on Thursday\, August 23. When your child comes to Kindergarten Welcome Camp\, please have him/her bring a water bottle with his/her name on it. We will provide a snack during the camp. \nPlease have your child bring in a 4 x 6 family picture\, for us to display in our classroom. There will be Eucharistic Adoration in the Our Lady of the Lake chapel beginning after the 9 a.m. Mass on June 1\, extending overnight\, and ending at noon on Saturday with benediction. \nPlease sign up for a one-hour time slot by calling Steve Redmond (616-399-5520) or contacting Cory Lakatos (616-399-1062 ext. 110\, clakatos@oll.org). There is a Facebook event\, but you don’t need to RSVP on Facebook to come to Adoration. \nWhat Is Eucharistic Adoration? \nJesus is truly present in the Eucharist\, so spending time with the Blessed Sacrament is a wonderfully intimate way to pray and worship. During Adoration\, the Host is displayed on the altar in a special receptacle called a monstrance. We hope you can join us as we venerate Christ and pray for our school! \nWhat to Do: \n\nSign up for a one-hour slot (or more!) by calling Steve Redmond at 616-399-5520 or contacting Cory Lakatos at 616-399-1062 ext. 110 or clakatos@oll.org.\nArrive at Our Lady of the Lake 10-15 minutes early and enter through the chapel doors. Sign in at the table in the back of the chapel.\nBefore\, during\, and after your time slot\, please maintain an atmosphere of silence and reverence in the chapel. It’s appropriate to genuflect (bow on one knee) before sitting down as a sign of reverence for Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament.\nYou can pray however you want to during Adoration. There will be prayer resources near the sign in table. You are especially encouraged to pray for the people of Corpus Christi School.\nSomeone must always be in the chapel with the Host\, so please do not leave during your time slot.\nWhen your time slot is over\, check the sign up sheet to see if at least one of the people in the next slot have arrived. If so\, sign out and leave.
