The children (and parents) have been settling into the routines of school. They are doing really well with just a few tears at separation for some. Thank you signing your child in and out on their locker doors.

The first couple weeks of school we have been exploring the centers of the room (blocks, playdough, water table, sand table, kitchen/dressup, toys and games, felt boards). We have been talking about appropriate play and clean up of the materials.

We also have been learning about the shapes used in letters (big lines, little lines, big curves, little curves) by manipulating these shapes to make pictures, letters, etc. We also used them to make music by tapping along to music and to learn about positional words such as over-under, front-back, up-down.

We began working on our fine motor skills by practicing with scissors and using 3 fingers to pick up crayons for drawing and coloring.

Be sure to email Katie Dishinger at katiedishinger@dogrschools.org to be invited to join the Corpus Christi website to see all the newsletters as well as other Corpus Christi information.

We hope to see you at the St. Francis Festival at Corpus Christi this Saturday. Children’s games are from 1-5 p.m. There will also be food, raffles, and much more all day.
