November 15 Preschool News

We had our first snow day this week! I hope this early snow means an early Spring. The children enjoyed playing in the snow except Wednesday, the wind chill was below 10 degrees so that means we do not go outside.

This week in preschool, the Monday, Wednesday, Friday group explored circles by playing a circle sorting game and gluing circle cereal to a circle shape. They were also able to print with circle objects. The children were introduced to a stamp and see screen and slate board- materials that will develop their pre-writing skills.

The Tuesday, Thursday group participated in the Day of Sharing on Thursday. The children worked with children from other grades in different stations to decorate placemats for a nursing home, make cards for the homebound, counted the food donations, filled trail mix bags for Kids Food Basket, and decorate a brown bag for Kids Food Basket as well. The children ate lunch in the gym with the older kids, graciously served by parent volunteers. It was a great day.

We are looking forward to meeting with you next week for conferences. Conferences will be held in one of the two meeting rooms at the front of the school except the Wednesday afternoon conferences will be in the preschool room. It would probably be best to park in the main parking lot in front of the school.
