Alumni Highlight - Garett Shrode

Corpus Christi class of 2014 Alumni Highlight

Garett Shrode

Garett graduated from CCCS in 2014 and attended high school at Hamilton High where he was named Class of 2018 Salutatorian.  Favorite subjects included Spanish and Math. In addition to his academics, Garett was actively involved in both sports and the arts, playing three years of Varsity Tennis, seven theater productions, and choir vocal and ensemble.   Garett is excited to be attending Hope College in the fall to study Civil Engineering.

Reflecting on CCCS, Garett had this to share.  “I have come to appreciate the differences between private and public schools and have grown from my mixed education history.  CCCS prepared me extremely well for high school. I learned how to work hard and critically think, and that put me ahead of many of my classmates.  CCCS also helped me better understand my faith. I am still very active at St. Francis and joined the choir there this year.”

When asked what advice he’d give to current middle school students, Garett encourages them to “put yourself out there and get involved.  It is so important to meet new people and find something you are passionate about in which you can contribute to the community.”

Congratulations Garett – Your CCCS family is very proud!
