Corpus Christi Celebrates Thanksgiving

At this time of Thanksgiving, we come together in Gratitude (our highlighted Virtue) and give thanks for our friends, family, and parish communities.  On Wednesday, November 14, 2018 the students, parents, grandparents, faculty, and priests joined together and celebrated Mass, joined in activities, nourished our bodies, and gave thanks for all our many blessings.

We put our beliefs into action by the activities we participated in on Wednesday. We invited local nonprofit organizations, Kids Food Basket, Critter Barn, and Tom Eggleston, SFDS Pastoral Associate, to present to our students the many needs and opportunities for service in our community. Afterwards, we used designed thinking to create our yearlong all school service project. The Corpus Christi Annual Food Drive provided St. Vincent de Paul with nonperishable supplies to create Thanksgiving baskets for those in need.

The prayers for our parish communities have been included in our weekly Masses. As we reflect on the lessons we have learned, we also remember the wonderful memories and good people who helped us. We are grateful that you are a part of our lives.

“For everything created by God is good, and nothing is to be rejected when received with thanksgiving, for it is made holy by the invocation of God in prayer.”   1 Timothy 4: 4-5.
