The “Swanky” Report 9.7.19

The first week of school was amazing for our preschoolers! I hope they each had fun as we learned more about each other and what our daily routine will be this year!

We have a class jar that the students can work towards filling up for a treat each time they are playing nicely with friends, they follow directions when they are given and we have everyone participating in songs and story time! They have been doing so great working towards this treat!

Our Daily Routine:

Morning Routine:
8:00-8:15 AM: Drop-off
8:15-8:30 AM: Quiet Time
8:30-8:45 AM: Morning Meeting
8:45-9:00 AM: Bathroom Break
9:00-9:15 AM: Snack
9:15-10:30 AM: Centers
10:30-10:45 AM: Story Time/Bathroom Break
10:45-11:00 AM: Recess
11:00-11:15 AM: Closing Circle

Afternoon Routine:
11:15-11:45 AM: Lunch
11:45-12:30 PM: Rest Time
12:30-2:00 PM: Free Choice Centers
2:00-2:30 PM: Science Activity (Tuesdays), Math Activity (Thursdays)
2:30-2:45 PM: Snack/Bathroom Break
2:45-3:15 PM: Recess
3:15-3:30 PM: Story Time
3:30 PM: Dismissal

 

Reminders:

1. Please bring a water bottle each day to school, we prefer ones that have a straw so that we can avoid spills should a bottle hit the floor!
2. If your child gets cold easily, please bring a sweater to keep at school!
3. Practice washing hands at home after bathroom breaks and before meals.
4. With the cold weather approaching, start practicing how to dress for outside. Snow pants first, boots, coat and then gloves.
5. We encourage reading each day with your student, the Herrick Library has some great events for families to help with this!
