Third Grade Update February 21

As we approach March is Reading Month, we are looking for family members to come in and read to the class. If you are interested, please e-mail and we will set up a time that works. This Wednesday is Ash Wednesday and we will be celebrating Mass at OLL. This Thursday, we will be having our pizza party that Bree won at the raffle during Catholic Schools Week. Students will not need to bring a lunch on Thursday. Please let me know if you have any questions.

Religion: This week we will learn Jesus is the Lamb of God we will also learn about the feast of Passover and how God made a covenant with His people.

Language Arts: We will continue our novel study on Food Chain Frenzy. This is a story that describes food chains and how plants and animals survive in different ecosystems.

Spelling: There is no spelling this week.

Math: We will continue learning about fractions. We will learn how to compare and order fractions as well as how to make equivalent fractions. Please continue to practice math facts for 5-10 minutes a day.

Social Studies: We will continue learning about how Michigan grew as a state. We will learn about Henry Ford and how advances in transportation helped our state to grow.

Science: We will conclude our chapter on ecosystems and review what we have learned about different ecosystems and how they change and grow.
