February 28 Preschool News

We have avoided major snowstorms this winter, but it has still been cold. Remember to send winter gear for playing outside.

This week in preschool, the children learned about the letter C and the sound it makes. They practiced tracing the letter C and identifying words that begin with that letter including car. On Monday, the children painted tracks by dipping cars in paint and driving them across the paper. The children also did their monthly journal page to draw pictures of people they love. The children also played a Happy/Sad Tooth sorting game to celebrate Dental Health Month. The children had to identify foods and habits that make a happy tooth vs. food and habits that make a sad tooth. The children even received a toothbrush that was graciously donated by a school family. In the Atrium, we talked about the start of the new church season, Lent. We changed the prayer cloth to purple and talked about that this is a time of preparation for Easter. We continued to give one on one presentations on the parable of the Mustard Seed and will soon listen to the parable of the Good Shepherd.

I hope you received the barn invitation to our Preschool Literacy Morning on March 21. We hope that all the children can come so that they can participate in the stories and crafts. Please email me by Wednesday, March 18 to let me know how many people will be attending- amyplackowski@dogrschools.org.
