February 7 Preschool News T/TH

Please remember to let us know what your plans are for your preschooler next year. Last week, you received enrollment information and a census form with the question of what your plans are for next year. Be sure to send that back in next week so that we know what your plans are. Again, do not hesitate to ask me any questions that you may have. We would love to see your child’s smiling face here again.

This week in preschool, the children learned about the letter R and the sound it makes. They put rainbow stickers in the letter R. We saw some great items that begin with the letter: rabbits, rainbow rice, racecar, robot, rainbow and rain, radio, and a ring among other things. There will be no show and tell next week due to the Valentine’s Day party. The next show and tell will be the letter S on February 20. This week also reviewed the four shapes of circle, rectangle, square, and triangle. The children practiced the shape by matching pom poms to make each shape and painting with shapes sponges.

We will have a Valentine’s Day party on Thursday, February 13. Each student is to bring a valentine for their classmates- there are now 20 children in the class (Larry has withdrawn from the program.) Please do not address the valentines to the individual children in the class- just sign your child’s name. The children will be decorating a bag to collect their valentines.

Please note that there is NO SCHOOL on Tuesday, February 18 for mid-winter break.

Stay warm this weekend!
