November 23 Preschool News

The month of November has been very cloudy and dreary. But we are still enjoying our days in preschool.

This week in preschool, we explored the shape of rectangle by making rectangles from the big and little lines, making rectangle prints with paint, and going on a rectangle hunt around the classroom and school. We also practiced our pre-writing skills by tracing vertical and horizontal lines in the shape of a cross. We also started reading stories about Thanksgiving and making a turkey picture by painting and printing with feathers.

In the Atrium, we continue to present practical life works (spooning, pouring, eyedropping, etc.). We also started learning about the land of Israel and the three major cities -Nazareth (represented by a flame-the Holy Spirit), Bethlehem (represented by a shooting star), and Jerusalem (represented by a cross). Some children also started learning the name of the items on the Altar.

Next week, we will continue to talk about Thanksgiving. We will talk about giving thanks for God’s gifts and how we can show thanks.

The Tuesday/Thursday morning group have really enjoyed playing airplane the last couple of weeks. This day Lyle was our pilot.

Having fun with Mat Man!
