Please be sure to check folders as many papers went home this week.

The mid-year report card was sent home. The grades and comments are based on a few weeks of observations and discussions with Mrs. Fickel. A more complete report card will be sent home at the end of the school year.

Enrollment information for next year was also sent home. Please do not hesitate to ask any questions about preschool for next year.

Valentine’s Day is coming up soon! We will be celebrating a party on Thursday, February 13th. The children do pass out valentines to each other; however, each child must be included. There are 21 children in the class. Please do not address the valentines to each child in the class- leave that space blank. Just sign or have them sign the card in the “From” space. The children will decorate bags in class for the valentines that they receive.

We have also started STAR of the Week. Every week a different child will receive a paper to fill out so that we can learn more about them. The star also gets to bring home the class pet, Milo. There is a journal to share the adventures your child had with Milo over the weekend.

Please note that there is NO SCHOOL on Tuesday, February 18 for mid-winter break.

This week in preschool we learned about the letter Q- I loved seeing the creative “Q” items that were brought in for show and tell. The children glued paper quarters onto the letter Q. They also played a color sorting games with different colored insects.

This week was Catholic Schools Week! We had a special donut treat one day and I really enjoyed seeing the children dressed up as their future job. We will be as mass at St. Francis on Sunday at 10:30 a.m.

We haven’t had a large amount of absences but there are a few illnesses that seem to be going around- a stomach bug with vomiting and diarrhea; and, a flu bug with fever and coughing. Please be sure to keep your child home if they are sick with those symptoms. Call 796-2320 or email me to let me know what the symptoms are.

Have a great weekend!
