Third Grade Update March 12

On Tuesday, if you bring in a dollar donation you can wear jeans. The donation will go to a local charity. The middle school is also collecting items for some local charities. Religion: This week we will learn about the Sacrament of Confirmation and the gifts of the Holy Spirit. We will also pray the Stations of the Cross.

Language Arts: This week we will be reading the story Rocks in His Head. This is a fictional story about a man who loves to collect rocks. In grammar, we will be working on possessive pronouns. Our comprehension skill for the week will be distinguishing between fact and opinion.

Spelling: This week in spelling we will be learning prefixes. The words for this week are prepaid, midnight, overflow, outdoors, outline, overgrown, prefix, Midwest, pretest, midpoint, outgoing, overtime, overdue, outside, and outfield.

Math: We will be learning about liquid volume, measuring mass, and how to use measurements to solve problems. Please continue to practice math facts for 5-10 minutes a day.

Social Studies: We will learn about the diversity of people living in Michigan and what led people to leave their home countries to move to Michigan.

Science: We will begin learning about the weather. We will learn about the water cycle and the sequence of events that occur within the water cycle.
