Community Helpers October

Happy Birthday to Amy and Jose!  We enjoyed celebrating your day at school.

Social Studies: We have been learning about Community Helpers this week.  We read Little Critter This is My Town, Froggy Goes to the Doctor, The Best Teacher Ever.  We saw all the places and people that provide a service.  We matched up pictures of community helpers with an item they use to do their work. Have fun matching the pictures up at home.

Reading: We read Dig, Dig, Digging in which we saw how different equipment works to get a job done. We learned about the letter Tt, and its sound at the beginning and ending sound in words. We practiced writing letter Tt. We are learning how to use the lines the correct way and to start at the top of the letter to print it.  Our sight words are: to, a. We read Tami.

Math: We are learning about the numbers 6 and 7.  We practiced counting sets of objects with the numbers, filling in ten frames with counters and printing the numbers.  We will be working on numbers 8 and 9 next week. Keep practicing the numbers 0 to 5.

Religion:  We have been learning that God made us in his Image.  We came up with many ideas of how we can make good choices and show our love for God.
