Third Grade Update Dec. 6th

Dear Parents,

This week, we will be having our Advent Retreat. We will learn more about preparing and waiting for the birth of Jesus. We will also have a guest speaker come into the class to teach us about Body Safety. Please let me know if you have any questions. Have a great weekend!

Religion: This week we will look at the fourth commandment and learn what it means to honor your mother and father.

Language Arts: This week, we will continue reading our novel Winter According to Humphrey. This is a realistic fiction story about a class hamster and what he notices as the students prepare for their Winter Wonderland Program. We will also continue learning cursive letters this week.

Spelling: There will be no spelling this week.

Math: We will conclude our chapter on exploring division with a test on Thursday. The students are doing a great job learning their facts. Please continue to practice math facts for 5-10 minutes a day.

Social Studies: There will not be any social studies this week.

Science: We will continue our study of how plants grow and change. We will learn plants grow food and how the leaves, stems, and roots store and transport water and nutrients.
