Kindergarten November News

Reading:  We read Jack and the Beanstalk in which we saw Jack and the Ogre become friends in the end.  We have been learning what is make believe and real. Our letter is Ii as the middle sound in words. We figured our the middle sounds in CVC words as either an a or an i. Our sight words are:  he, for.  We continue to learn about adjectives and  that they have opposites.  Next week we will be reading Thanksgiving stories.

Math:  Addition has been our focus. We learned about number families  with the sums of 3-7.  For example, if the sum is 4 you could have 2 + 2 , 1 + 3 or 3 +1.  We  continue to verbalize the number sentences to learn the vocabulary of plus and equals.

Religion: Jesus is Lord. We learned that Lord is another word for Jesus, Lord shows that Jesus is divine. We learned that God is pleased with Jesus, we drew a picture of when our parents are pleased with us.
